沙忠利，男，理學(xué)博士，研究員，博導。長(cháng)期從事海洋甲殼動(dòng)物系統學(xué)研究，訂正了十足目鼓蝦科物種鑒定的形態(tài)依據，厘清了中國海鼓蝦科（16屬145種）和寄居蟹總科（5科36屬153種）的有效種，并修訂了對蝦總科高級階元的分類(lèi)系統；圍繞區域性底棲甲殼動(dòng)物多樣性，澄清了黃海底棲端足類(lèi)和膠州灣底棲甲殼動(dòng)物的物種組成，闡釋了黃海底棲端足類(lèi)區系特點(diǎn)及其與黃海冷水團的關(guān)系，揭示了重要經(jīng)濟物種口蝦蛄以長(cháng)江口為界的區系分布格局與隱存種現象；描記深海甲殼動(dòng)物物種多樣性，發(fā)表了1新科2新屬12新種，提出了甲殼動(dòng)物“淺海-深海-熱液”的進(jìn)化模式，并探討其適應深海化能極端環(huán)境的分子機制。近年來(lái)出版專(zhuān)著(zhù)8部，參編專(zhuān)著(zhù)1部，以第一作者或通訊作者發(fā)表研究論文50篇。
